Thunder Bay Police Youth Corps

The Thunder Bay Police Youth Corps consists of teens between the ages of 13 to 19.  They are instructed in all aspects of policing through volunteering with the various police agencies in addition to Corrections and the Ministry of Natural Resources Law Enforcement.  In the last five years, these youth have contributed more than 2000 volunteer hours to our community.  You can see them working at events such as the Terry Fox Run, Remembrance Day Parade, the Police Memorial and the Rotary Christmas Parade and the Parade of Lights.  The cadets always go the the extra mile with the public by engaging the young children and helping to clean up after an event.  The cadets are learning at an early age how to be contriuting members of our community and the importance and rewards of volunteerism.  "Lead by example" is the standard to which they aspire and definitely live up to.
