The Recreation & Culture Division has a ton of different recreation equipment that you can borrow for FREE from Ogden Community Centre by calling 625-3220. We have all-terrain wheelchairs, parachutes, balls, pylons, racquets, rubber chickens, and lots of other fun stuff too!
The Key is available on tape cassette and CD. It is recorded and released at the same time as the printed version of The Key. You can pick a copy up at Brodie Street Library, Waverley Resource Library, County Park Library, Mary J.L. Black Library, and the Victoriaville Civic Centre. You can also be put on a mailing list to receive a copy of the recorded version of 'The Key' in the mail by calling 625-3220 or emailing SHolloway@thunderbay.ca. Once you are on this list you will receive the recorded version when the printed version of 'The Key' is delivered, four times a year. Please note that the recorded version only includes the Community Services section of The Key and not the other sections.
The Thunder Bay Wheelchair Curling Association will host Wheelchair Curling this fall and winter starting October 16th, 2011. Children and adults with a physical disability can join in to enjoy the sport from a wheelchair. Wheelchairs and basic curling instruction is provided by experienced curlers. Fees are $45. Volunteer! Sledge Hockey is played from a sledge that you can move around the ice using picks. The equipment is available in Thunder Bay, so come out and get into this great sport! Ontario Track 3 is a non-profit volunteer organization aimed at teaching youth with cognitive or physical disabilities to downhill ski. Sessions will run once a week for 7 weeks at Mount Baldy beginning January 2012.
