City-Organized Events

The City of Thunder Bay's Recreation & Culture Division produces a diverse lineup of award-winning free events designed to inspire, engage, activate and delight all ages. 

Call for Talent 

The City of Thunder Bay is inviting musicians, dance groups, children’s entertainers and other stage
performance acts to apply to perform at the City’s annual summer events series.
Performance opportunities include over 14 event days, including two major single-day events and two
event series. All events are free to the public and collectively draw thousands of attendees.

Fantastic sculptures are the focal point of this one-day celebration of all things winter.

 Winter Fundays
Enjoy the outdoors at beautiful Marina Park, with a different free winter activity every Sunday - then warm up with a craft in the Baggage Building Arts Centre.

Live on the Waterfront 
Thunder Bay's premier free performing arts series! Wednesday evenings at Marina Park through the summer.

A series of free outdoor film screenings that take place on Friday nights at Marina Park.

Teddy Bears Picnic
Children, parents and teddy bears are invited to enjoy an afternoon of free crafts, activities and entertainment in July at Vickers Park.

Spend a fun-filled fall afternoon discovering a park you may never have visited before - or experience a familiar park in a whole new way!
