Parade 6:00pm – 6:30pm
Parade Route: Begins at the Pearl Street entrance to Marina Park
participants will weave though Marina Park and end at
the driving overpass.

This is the first year we are allowing the public to show up and be in the Canada Day Parade. This is great fun for families and friends don`t miss out.

Be Part of the Canada Day Parade!
Join us as we bike, trike, roll, stroll, wheel, skate, and walk in the City’s Second Annual ‘green’ parade.

Being part of the parade is fun & easy.

1) Dress up in red and white, bring a mode of transportation if you wish such as a trike, bike, wagon, stroller, wheel chair or just walk.

2) Go to the Pearl St. entrance of Marina Park at 5:30 pm or earlier. Volunteers and staff will direct you where to line up to be in the Canada Day Parade.

3) The Parade will start at 6 pm. Don`t forget to wave and smile during the Parade!

Opening Ceremony 6:30pm
Featuring: The Royal Canadian Legion Colour Guard, Thunder Bay
Police Pipe Band, Emily Schelling, Rotary House Draw, Peng You Tai Chi, and special guests.

Food vendors will be available at various locations throughout the Park serving all your favourite goodies.

Information Stations

We're here to help you during the event by answering questions and providing you with maps and schedules for the Canada Day Celebration! Two locations; one near the Camelot entrance, and one near the Baggage Building Arts Centre.

Parade - 6:00 - 6:30 pm

We encourage groups, organizations, businesses, teams, performers, etc. To be apart of the  2nd annual "Green & Active Living" Parade!

Do you want to make your Canada Day more memorable? Volunteering is the best way to get in on all of the action at Prince Arthur's Landing! Click on the pdf below for a list of volunteer opportunities:


  • Water Street will be CLOSED from 9pm to 12am (midnight)
  • NO Parking in Marina Park on July 1
  • PARK n' RIDE on the FREE shuttle bus to Marina Park (4:30 pm to 12:30 am) from:
    • Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre (700 River Street)
    • Intercity Shopping Centre
  • Free Parking available in the Court Street Parkade (18 N. Court Street) on July 1
  • Thunder Bay Transit is operating on Sunday service schedule. Transit service will run until 12:00 am to accommodate the Canada Day celebrations. View the Transit webpage for bus schedules.
  • Accessible Parking: Go over the Marina Park Overpass and turn left into the Park (towards Lake Superior). Parking Permit for Disabled required. Limited space is available.


  • There will be no parking in Marina Park on July 1
  • Free parking is available at the Court Street Parkade (18 N. Court Street) on July 1
  • Please use the FREE shuttle buses from the two community locations:
    • Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre (700 River Street)
    • Intercity Shopping Centre

Road Closure

Water Street will be CLOSED from 9pm to 12am (midnight)


What to Bring

  • Lawn chair(s) or blanket(s)
  • Sunscreen and hat
  • An umbrella! - This event is "rain or shine"
  • Cash as no debit or credit cards will be accepted on site
  • Show Your Canadian Spirit! Wear Red & White on Canada Day! Bring flags or wear shirts or hats sporting the maple leaf!


No personal fireworks or alcohol allowed in Marina Park.
