Consortium Aurora Borealis presents “Classical Concoctions for Clarinet and Bassoon”, as Peter Shackleton and Karine Breton return to perform stylish chamber music from either side of 1800. This programme of chamber music includes a Beethoven duo for clarinet and bassoon, a Caprice for solo clarinet by Anton Stadler, who was Mozart’s clarinetist, as well as quartets for clarinet and strings by Crusell and Müller, and quartets for bassoon and strings by Devienne and Danzi.

You will find their music, written within a thirty-year time span, quite enchanting. With Katie Stevens, violin; Mathilde Bernard, viola; Joe Goering, cello. Peter, our clarinet soloist, will give the pre-concert talk as a mini lecture-recital, from a historical point of view.

Saturday, January 13, 2018, 8:00 p.m., St. Paul`s United Church,
349 Waverley Street, Thunder Bay.
Informative pre-concert talk at 7:30 p.m. by clarinetist Peter Shackleton
