Sport Tourism Events & Activities Policy

In December 2008 City Council adopted the Sport Tourism Events & Activities Policy that was developed with the assistance of the Sports Bid Administrative Advisory Committee. This policy was created following significant research and stakeholder consultation. As a result of this Policy, Event Services was launched in April 2009, the 2011 Ontario Special Olympics Winter Games were secured, the new Street Event Grant was introduced and City staff assisted with launch of new events such as the inaugural 'Miles with the Giant' Marathon.
