Note that many City offices, including Event Services, will be closed from Dec. 24, at 12 noon, until Jan. 4. 2010 FEO AwardsEach year, the Festivals & Events Ontario (FEO) Awards Program pays tribute to those who make the festivals and events in Ontario a success. The Awards Program showcases industry best practices and recognizes the hard work and dedication of those who choose event planning as a profession. The awards are presented at FEO's Annual Conference which is being held this year at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ottawa, March 3 - 6, 2010. Apply Now! Application deadline is Jan. 8, 2010. Government of Canada Marquee Tourism Events ProgramThe Marquee Tourism Events Program is providing $100 million in funding over two years for marquee tourism events in support of the visitor economy. This program has helped events across the country to sustain or increase their international reach and increase audience appeal through enhanced international marketing efforts, additional programming and new product offerings. Established marquee tourism events interested in applying for funding are to submit their proposals on or before Jan. 8, 2010. For more information, visit the Marquee Tourism Events Program website.
