Thank you for another great Summer in the Parks season! We look forward to seeing you in 2010!
GENERAL INFORMATION
Since 1904, Summer in the Parks has been an important part of the City's heritage. With the incomparable Marina Park on Lake Superior as the setting, concerts showcase performers presenting a variety of musical styles. In addition to great music, Summer in the Parks evenings feature children's activities, free draws, a variety of on-site concessions and an artisans market.
CALL FOR TALENT
We are looking for musicians to be part of the 2010 Summer in the Parks line-up. It is a great opportunity to entertain thousands of people and showcase your talent. If you are interested or know those who would be, check back here in early April for our "Call for Talent" application.
ART OF THE HARBOUR ARTISAN'S MARKET
Building on the success of the last two seasons, the City of Thunder Bay once again partnered with the Heart of the Harbour BIA to bring you "Art of the Harbour" during the 2009 Summer in the Parks Concert series. Concert goers experienced the wonder of what local artisans were creating and selling while listening to the bands at Prince Arthurs landing in beautiful Marina Park.
SHUTTLE BUSES
An exciting addition to this summer's concert series was the free Summer in the Parks Shuttle Bus. The shuttle brought concert goers from the downtown Heart of the Harbour parkade right to the festival area and could be flaged down anywhere along the route. Make sure to check for shuttle routes and locations at the beginning of the season next summer.
THANK YOU THUNDER BAY!
The 2009 season of Summer in the Parks was a great success! Despite some less than perfect weather, thousands of music lovers, tourists, and fellow entertainers came out to enjoy the outstanding talent we have in this city. Without the support of the community, Summer in the Parks could not be the great concert series it is today. Be sure to check back here for updates as plans for SITP 2010 are in the works. The 2010 Summer in the Parks line-up will be announced in June.
