The Kite Festival, first held in 1981, was included in the "Top 50 Ontario Festivals" list for four years in a row. The program has been renamed as the "Top 100 Ontario Festivals" and the Thunder Bay Kite Festival made the list for 2008! Don't miss this award-winning day of fun, colour and amazement!

Kite Festival 2007
The 2007 Kite Festival was held at beautiful Chippewa Park on the shores of Lake Superior. Along with kite workshops, demonstrations and activities, we were joined by our friends from the Kitchener-Waterloo Windclimbers, Toronto Kite Fliers and the Minnesota Kite Society. Members of these clubs wowed audiences with their spectacular demonstrations with their high flying colourful kites.

Award-winning Festival
Thousands of events are held every year in Ontario but only a select few are named to the ¿Top 100 Ontario Festivals¿ list. For four consecutive years from 2003 to 2006, the event made the "Top 50 Ontario Festivals" list. The recognition program has been renamed and in 2008, Thunder Bay¿s Kite Festival was included in this prestigious listing published by Festivals & Events Ontario, the professional association for the festivals and events industry in Ontario.
