The City of Thunder Bay Parks Division maintains over 100 parks and more that 32 km of paved recreational trails. Many of our parks are large and offer diverse opportunities for fun and relaxation. City neighbourhoods boast many smaller parks and greenspaces, most with playground equipment. See below for a list of our feature parks.

Two of Thunder Bay's parks offer camping, for your mini-vacation just minutes from home!
Trowbridge Falls provides a peaceful family experience under tall spruce and aspen trees, alongside the gentle cascades of the Current River. Enjoy water play, pleasant walking trails and a spacious playground.
Chippewa Park features more open campsites and nearby supervised swimming at Sandy Beach. Take in the amusement rides, old-time carousel, wildlife park and stunning views of Lake Superior.
WATER PLAY AREASVisit our Pools, Splashpads & Beaches page for information on indoor and outdoor swimming and water play.
Our paved recreational trails guide you through both the urban and natural scenery of our City.
