About Our Parks

The City of Thunder Bay is proud to maintain a large acreage of open spaces for the pleasure and recreation of the community. The Parks Division is responsible for 124 parks throughout the City as well as 32 kilometres of paved recreation trails and public trees on boulevards.

Be sure to visit the Kaministiquia River Heritage Park, Paterson Park, Vickers Park and the International Friendship Gardens. There are also a number of Neighbourhood Parks offering relaxation, recreation and beauty to residents and visitors alike. Most of these parks have playground units for children of all ages to enjoy.

If you are interested in booking an event at one of the City parks, please call the Facility Booking Coordinator. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. *Please note the Facility Booking Coordinator goes for lunch from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm daily.
