Home to "Animikii - Flies the Thunder", a magnificent, 22-foot tall, stainless steel, winged sculpture by artist Anne Allardyce. The historic 100 year old James Whalen Tug is permanently moored in the park alongside a riverside walkway. The Kaministiquia River Park also features a VIA Rail train exhibit and 550 metre long river walk. New to the park this year is the Merchant Marine Monument, a 59-year-old memorial monument, which honours 58 men who lost their lives in the Second World War while working for Paterson Steamships. The memorial was moved from the former Thunder Bay Paterson office to the present site.
