Access off N. Algoma St. , N. Cumberland St. or Arundel St. Boulevard Lake is surrounded by 650 acres of parkland, from the scenic bluffs to the dam on the lower Current River. The Black Bay Bridge, a reinforced concrete span bridge built in 1911, was the first of its type in North America. Boulevard features the most popular outdoor swimming area and beach in the City. The recreation trail system circles Boulevard Lake and is extremely popular for people of all ages. Season: Year round Amenities:
Bookable parks at Boulevard Lake There are only three parks that the City of Thunder Bay charges a booking fee. The fee to book each of the following parks is $56.50/day (HST included): 1. Current River Park - off of Cumberland Street North 2. Birch Point Picnic Area - off of Adams Street & Cuyler Street 3. Evergreen Picnic Area - off of East Lion Boulevard There are also three parks that the City of Thunder Bay does not charge a fee to book: 1. Boulevard Pavilion Picnic Area - off of West Lion Boulevard 2. Rita Street Picnic Area - off of Rita Street & East Lion Boulevard 3. River Bend Picnic Area - off of Arundel Street
Bookings are taken from the May Long weekend to the Labour Day weekend in September. (Some exceptions may apply depending on the park and event). All parks need to be booked for any event/picnic.
