Chippewa Cabins by the Water

City of Thunder Bay Parks & Open Spaces Section operates two campgrounds for visitors and residents to enjoy. These sites offer cabins and traditional RV, trailer and tent campsites. For city residents, they offer a mini-vacation just minutes from home! For out-of-town visitors, they offer scenic camping with convenient access to Thunder Bay amenities.

See the Chippewa Park webpage for site maps, rental rates and operation dates. The Chippewa Park campground has RV/trailer/tent campsites and cabin rentals, amusement rides, wildlife park, swimming, picnic field reservations, pavilion bookings and much more! Potable water is available.

See the Trowbridge Falls Campground webpage for site maps, rental rates and operation dates. Trowbridge Falls Campground offers RV/tent campsites, swimming, hiking trails and playground, all adjacent to the gentle cascades of the Current River.

The City of Thunder Bay encourages campground visitors to buy firewood locally, burn firewood locally, and not leave any firewood behind. The movement of firewood presents a great risk of spreading Emerald Ash Borer, which has decimated ash trees throughout Canada and the United States. So far, Thunder Bay Region's native black ash and decorative white and green ash have been spared. Firewood is available at City parks for a nominal charge. We thank you for your help.
