Youth Zone
The Youth Zone Program provides inclusive opportunities for youth ages 12-17 years to participate in supervised recreational activities, to organize activities initiated by themselves and to develop leadership skills fostering confidence and self-esteem.
The program runs during the summer with drop-in sites, special events, leadership development and volunteering being the focus of the program. The drop-in sites offer both structured and informal activities. Staff will plan for city-wide and site special events.
PLEASE NOTE: Several Leaders will be chosen to attend Inclusion Training (J.I.S.) in order to facilitate youth with special needs.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Current Standard First Aid and Level ‘C’ C.P.R. Certification
- Attendance at Staff Training – June, 2009
- High Five Quality Assurance Certification (Courses scheduled for March and June, 2009)
- A Police Records Check (Type 2) from the Thunder Bay Police Department is a condition of hiring for ages 18 and over
- 3 References required for ages under 18
