dmA Planning & Management Services presented the draft Master Plan report and recommendations to City Council on June 9th and at a public open house on June 10. A 'COMMUNITY UPDATE' was held on November 20, 2007 where findings from research conducted this fall were shared.
The consulting team for the Master Plan has worked with City Staff to gather and document information on existing services, population characteristics, and service trends. The main consultation phase included interviews with related service providers, community representatives and municipal staff. As well, seasonal users of the City’s indoor and outdoor facilities were surveyed and focus groups held with representatives of organizations serving key segments of the population. Throughout the fall, a telephone survey was also conducted to provide a broad measure of resident’s opinions and priorities. All residents of Thunder Bay were invited to provide their feedback by completing a brief comment form provided online and at all Recreation facilities.
