The Recreation & Culture Division is proud to offer a wide range of activities and programs for youth including:
Chippewa Summer Camps - July and August at Chippewa Park.
Coaching Certification - Student coaches may want to purse their National Coaching Certification.
Community Centres - Some community centres offer programs for youth. Contact a community centre near you.
Girl Power - Stay tuned for details of the day-long Girl Power celebration taking place on Saturday April 25, 2009.
March Break 2009 - Activities during March Break and PD Days are specially designed for youth.
Events - During the summer, events are held including the Kite Festival, Summer in the Parks, Canada Day, Teddy Bears Picnic and Riverfest.
Neighbourhood Recreation Program - Sports, special guests, clinics, tournaments and skill development are the focus for our after-school specialty programming geared to 11 to 17 year olds. Don’t miss the big events! Recreation programming for ages 10 to 15 offered at Vance Chapman, Nor'Wester View, Pope John Paul II, Bishop Gallagher, and Woodcrest.
Playgrounds - Programs are offered at a playgrounds during July and August.
Playgrounds Supersports - Sports-based activities for ages 8 to 13 are offered during July and August.
SuperArts - This program encourages children ages 8 to 13 to explore the arts! Qualified leaders encourage creativity and skill development for both beginning and experienced artists.
Outdoor Pools, Beach - Lessons, lengths and public swim times are offered at some outdoor pools and the supervised beach at Boulevard Lake during July and August.

Skateboard/BMX parks - There are 10+ skateboard parks in Thunder Bay. Check them out!
Skating - Learn to Skate and Power Skating are offered from September to March.
Swimming, Swim Lessons & Lifesaving Programs - Sir Winston Churchill Community Pool and Volunteer Pool offer learn to swim and lifesaving programs.
Volunteering - We have short term, long term commitments or one-time special events! Flexible hours and personalized schedules can be arranged.
Summer Volunteer Training - Training includes 3 days of core skills and program specific training.
Youth Zone - During July and August, i f you're between 10 and 17 and looking for a place to hang with friends, play sports, volunteer or check out special events, get into the Zone. Watch for the concert at Marina Park, Fearless Females, Skateboard competitions and much more.
Youth with Disabilities - Integration Services and Junior Integration Services provides support for youth with disabilities to participate in Recreation & Culture activities.
Financial Assistance - PRO Kids assists youth participate in activities when registration fees may be out of reach.
