1. Since the construction zone at Prince Arthur's Landing is closed to the public, is there a place where citizens can see photos of the progress?
Yes, we have created a dedicated section on our website with Photo Galleries of Construction Updates, Around Marina Park, Special Events and more. View our Photo Galleries to see the construction progress at Prince Arthur's Landing.
The Master Plan proposes a greatly expanded public park. Today's Marina Park is approximately 22 acres. The future Marina Park will boast almost 62 acres of public park.

ON THE WATERFRONT - PICNIC DOCKS AT PIER 2
Places to Read, Rest & Enjoy the Lakefront at Prince Arthur's Landing, Marina Park
The improvement to Pier 2 at Prince Arthur's Landing, Marina Park, includes plans for three Picnic Docks - dedicated areas designed for rest, social and leisure activity. The docks will be positioned upon existing piers within the Park, providing thoughtful spaces where individuals and small groups of visitors may view the lake, read a book or have a picnic.
Each Picnic Dock has a slightly different design direction to offer a diversity of seating arrangements and access to the lake. All docks feature a 'threshold' with overhead detailing, creating a pathway for visitors to pass through to reach views of the water. The overhead structures integrate translucent panels that attract and transform sunlight into graphic reflections unique to each Dock, and which are illuminated in the evening. Images embedded in the translucent panels are reminiscent of reflections on water, offering dynamic graphic detailing.

Way to go. I'm excited it's finally underway. Keep up the good work!
- Bonnie, fan on the 'City of Thunder Bay Waterfront Development' facebook page, comments on a photo posted relating to a FedNor investment from the Federal Government of $2 million that will assist in the first phase of Thunder Bay’s Waterfront Development at Marina Park and will help with architectural and construction review costs. The Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for FedNor, the Honourable Tony Clement was at the Waterfront on Dec. 17 for a tour of Prince Arthur's Landing.
