Community Policing is an enforcement and prevention model designed to deliver a focused response to crime and disorder issues in our city.

Beat Patrol
Officers on foot providing coverage in the two cores as well as a part time presence in Westfort. This is a community driven program which reduces the barriers between police and the public. It’s a more personalized approach that has proven to be very popular with the community.
Community Response Team
C.R.T. (Community Response Team) is tasked with special projects such as serial property crimes which require a number of investigative methods to resolve.
Focused Enforcement
Focused Enforcement Team (F.E.T.) comprised of six officers. This is a high visibility team operating primarily in uniform. F.E.T. members will be taking on specific projects within the downtown cores and neighbourhoods which face spikes in crime and disorder issues.
We will continue to dedicate two officers to our Aboriginal Liaison Unit. As well, the Thunder Bay Police Service remains committed to provide School Resource officers to encourage a safe educational environment.
