Contest Winner Shares Her Thunder Bay Experience
Susana Hsu was the lucky winner of the 2010 Win 7 Days with the Giant Contest. In September, Susana was joined by her husband and two close friends to experience an all inclusive vacation for four, traveling from their home town of Toronto, Ontario, to the exciting shores of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
"Like many, Thunder Bay never entered my realm of consideration for a holiday... I embarked on this trip with little knowledge and few expectations. I was, however, pleasantly surprised by this northern city." said Susana, reflecting on her unexpected adventure to the city.
Susana goes on to say "...the city's proximity to wilderness was one of its best features. If you like adventure, wildlife and beautiful vistas, it has plenty to offer on all counts. You won't find easy access to wilderness like this anywhere near Toronto."
As many visitors to Thunder Bay learn, our city is full of the unexpected, "The city itself was also a pleasant surprise... much more sophisticated than I had expected...Good ethnic cuisine is not something I had expected to find."
While this destination on the shores of Lake Superior was not one previously considered by Susana and her friends, this contest winner now realizes that these unique Thunder Bay experiences are more accessible than you would expect. "With Porter Airlines flying from downtown Toronto to Thunder Bay, getting there was a 2 hour breeze -- faster than getting up to Muskoka on a summer weekend." said Susana on her website blog.
Finally, as Susana says, the ultimate question of any trip, is would you go back and do it again. Susana's response: "Overall, I had a great time and given the opportunity, I would definitely go back and explore the many provincial parks and outdoor adventures it has to offer."
