First as home to the 1981 Canada Games, and over the last 30 years as a destination for those with a passion for a healthy and active lifestyle, the Canada Games Complex has long been a leader in offering recreation and fitness opportunities for people of all abilities.

For people with disabilities there is much to make your experience a great one. The front reception area is equipped with lowered counters for people who us wheelchairs, as well as a 35% discount for users with disabilities. Staff are friendly and accommodating and ready to show you all the great features that this facility has to offer.

If you are looking to pump some iron and maintain heart health there is an array of accessible weight and cardiovascular equipment to meet almost every need. If the pool is more your speed then take advantage of a pool area equipped with many accessible features. You can walk into the pool using the ramp or take advantage of the pool lift which features a comfortable seat that will lower you right into the water. For your change room needs the Canada Games Complex features on-deck change rooms that provide privacy if you are bringing a support person to assist you. Each change room features a change table and transfer bars in all the right places. To make your experience even more comfortable you can take advantage of the sling lift with slings available in all sizes! Complete your swim or workout with a shower in our accessible shower area.

If you travel light feel free to borrow a variety of floatation equipment to keep you afloat no matter what your need. Lifeguards are always available to help you find and operate equipment. All you need to do is ask. If you are in town for a while and are looking for something for the kids, take advantage of swimming lessons offered by instructors with training in accommodating children with disabilities.
