New City of Thunder Bay Walking Tours Highlight City’s Heritage
Four new self-guided walking tours throughout the City of Thunder Bay have been developed by the City’s Heritage Advisory Committee for both visitors and residents alike. Enjoy a leisurely scenic walk around Thunder Bay while learning about the City’s rich heritage and architecture. Brochures that include photographs and descriptions of each destination within the tours are available for download at www.thunderbay.ca/living/culture_and_heritage/heritage_properties/walking_tours.htm or hard copies can be picked up at City Hall, 500 Donald Street East.

Spring into Terry Fox Information Centre
Visit the Terry Fox Information Centre for information on new things to see and do during the spring months. The Centre is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, closed on statutory holidays. Centre will be closed on April 2 in observance of Good Friday and April 5 for Easter Monday. For more information, visit www.visitthunderbay.com or call (807) 983-2041.


Spring Events at Fort William Historical Park

Fort William Historical Park comes alive throughout the spring months. Following are just a few of the Forts unique offerings:

Spring Walking Tours
Daily walking tours continue 11am and 2pm, Monday through Friday. Please dress accordingly. Admission is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children aged six to 12. Children aged five 5 and under are free.

Conferencing and Banquet Facilities, Custom Programming
The Fort offers various conference and banquet facilities, from grand scale to intimate, plus a variety of custom-designed programming options for education and community groups, and corporate retreats.

Celebrate Earth Day at the Fort
Join Fort William Historical Park in celebrating Earth Day on Thursday, April 22. Embark on themed Earth Day tours from the Visitor Centre at 11 am and 2 pm. Tours last roughly 90 minutes. The Fort also offers Earth Day education programs for various grades.

Gammondale Farm Easter Egg Hunt
On April 3, from 11 am – 2 pm, Gammondale Farm invites you to the 4th Annual Gammondale Easter Egg Hunt. Grab a group of friends, family or co-workers for a fun-filled day of activities. The Sports Dome is offering $5 Drop-ins all winter long. Come and enjoy a game of soccer, badminton, tennis, ball hockey, basketball, dodgeball, volleyball, flag football, or ultimate frisbee! Daily walking tours continue Monday through Friday at 11 am and 2 pm. Tours begin at the Administration Building. Please dress accordingly. Seasonal admission rates apply.
