Tourism Thunder Bay Visitor Centre Christmas Hours
Tourism Thunder Bay invites you to bring your visitors during the Christmas Holidays and throughout the Winter months to the Terry Fox Information Centre to learn about what there is to see and do in our city. During the month of December the Terry Fox Information Centre will be open 9am-5pm daily. The Centre will be open the following times during the Christmas Holiday Season:

  • Dec 24 – Closed at Noon (12pm)
  • Dec 25 & 26 – Closed for Christmas
  • Dec 27 – 30 Open 9am – 5pm (closed an hour for lunch)
  • Dec 31 – Closed at Noon (12pm)
  • Jan 1 – Closed for New Years
  • Jan 2 – Open for normal Winter hours

The Terry Fox Information Centre is located on Highway 11/17 - 1 kilometer east of Hodder Avenue or 1 kilometre west of Spruce River Road.

Annual Parade of Lights
On Dec 1, bring the family down to Memorial Avenue and enjoy the Annual Parade of Lights for children in support of local children’s charities. Starting at 7pm, the parade will make its way from Main Street down Memorial Avenue to Queen Street. For more information, visit www.paradeoflights.ca.

2012 Holiday Train
On Dec 4 at 9:45pm bring the family down to the CP Train Depot Track for the annual Holiday Train. Come and enjoy Performances by Doc Walker, Miss Emily, and Brothers Dube.

Christmas on the Waterfront

New Year's Eve Family Frolic
On Monday, Dec 31, Fort William HIstorical Park invites you to bring the family down to their park for this year's annual New Year's Eve Family Frolic. Festivities run from 6 to 10 pm, featuring enjoyable indoor and outdoor activities including: sliding hill, skating rink (bring your skates!), snowshoeing (snowshoes provided), lively main stage entertainment, indoor crafts and performers, fireworks show towards 10pm. Thunder Bay's Newly Developed Waterfront

Make Thunder Bay’s waterfront your destination this December and experience the magic of a true winter.

In the Baggage Building Arts Centre visitors can admire and purchase works by local artisans in the Gift Shop Gallery. Look for upcoming events to happen during the month of December including Christmas at the Waterfront. For more information, call (807) 684-2060.

Experience the City’s outdoor art gallery at the waterfront. Down-load the Waterfront Public Art Walking Tour Guide from www.thunderbay.ca/publicartprojects or pick up a copy at the Baggage Building Arts Centre or the Community & Emergency Services front desk in the Victoriaville Civic Centre. Enjoy the majestic scenery of the waterfront while enjoying a wonderful meal and fine beverage at Thunder Bay’s new waterfront restaurant – bight Restaurant and Bar scheduled to open Dec 6th.
