On December 6th come bring your family down to Memorial Avenue and enjoy the 10th Annual Parade of Lights for Children starting at 7pm. Between December 6 and January 10th, Definitely Superior Art Gallery, located at 250 Park Avenue invite you down to their gallery for the NOCAA-10 (Northwestern Ontario Contemporary Aboriginal Artists). The Gala Opening will take place on December 6th at 7pm. A multi-disciplinary experience of visual art and performance. This thought-provoking exhibit showcases new and existing works by 10 of the leading emerging contemporary Aboriginal artists in the region. The exhibition features painting, film/video, musical performances and spoken word, which explore the ways in which past and present continue to merge and shape the artists’artform and means of story telling. This exhibition features 10 vital artists including more than 30 individual artworks and performances, by visual artists: Eric Keast, Christian Chapman, Danny Cutfeet, Richard Fedorick, Michelle Derosier and Thunderstone Pictures. Musical performances by: Shy-Anne Hovorka, Solomon, the Department of Rhythmis Affairs – featuring Robin Ranger, Tenka and spoken word by: Chris Waite. The Fort continues to offer winter walking tours, daily between Monday to Friday at 11 am and 2 pm. Tours last roughly 90 minutes, beginning from the Fort’s Administration Building. Please dress accordingly! There are also bookings for sleigh rides and winter artisan workshops. Be sure to include Fort William Historical Park in your winter celebrations! Chenier Fine Arts, the pruple gallery at 8 court Street South showcases a diverse selection of original art created by established an emerging Canadian, regional and international artists. View over 150 hand selected original artworks by over artists. Styles represented range from abstract and contemporary to classic and transitional. Mediums include paintings and mixed media on canvas, original prints on paper, ceramics exclusively by Shane Norrie, art jewellery and sculpture. New are the streetscape paintings of street hockey by Panichinim the whimsical still life of Brosseau and abstracts by Park and Jou Lee.
