Road Construction on Donald Street Starts Next Week

Road construction and sewer & water work on Donald Street, from Vickers Street to May Street, is scheduled to start on Monday, June 10, and will take place in two phases.

On Monday, June 10, phase one of the Donald Street construction will start on the sections from Syndicate Avenue to Brodie Street, and Syndicate Avenue to Vickers Street. Construction will include asphalt resurfacing, curb and gutter work, new curb extensions, new sidewalks, public realm improvements, and sewer and water work. This phase of the construction is expected to be completed in October.

The second phase will start on Monday, June 24, on the section from Syndicate Avenue to May Street. Construction will include asphalt resurfacing, curb and gutter work, curb extensions, new sidewalks and public realm improvements. This phase of construction is expected to be completed in three weeks from the start date. 

During construction, transit routes, stops and the City Hall transfer hub will be affected. On June 10, Transit service to and from City Hall will be detoured with some stops out of service. All affected stops will be updated on www.nextlift.ca.  

Buses will park at the transfer hub in their scheduled locations. On June 24, buses at the City Hall transfer hub will not be parked on Brodie St. or Donald St. More information will be posted on those detours next week. Signs will be posted for pedestrian routes during sidewalk construction. Access to the Victoriaville Parkade will be through Syndicate Avenue. Construction notices have been sent to those property owners adjacent to the construction.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage when travelling near the construction area. Updated information will be available once the project begins at: www.brunoscontracting.com/donaldstreet
