The City offers a diverse line-up of award-winning free events designed to inspire, engage, activate and delight all ages. Live on the Waterfront

Live on the Waterfront is Thunder Bay's premier free performing arts series! Wednesday evenings at Marina Park through the summer.

 

Quest: Tech & Gaming Event

Quest is Thunder Bay's First Annual Tech & Gaming Event that offers eSports tournaments, tech and gaming activities, entertainment, concessions and fun for the whole family!

Kite Festival

Kite Festival is an award-winning event that brings professional kite flyers, demonstrations and activities for all ages to Chippewa Park every June.

Canada Day on the Waterfront

Canada Day is Thunder Bay's biggest annual event - celebrate Canada's birthday at Marina Park!

Teddy Bears Picnic

Children, parents and teddy bears are invited to the annual Teddy Bears Picnic to enjoy an afternoon of free crafts, activities and entertainment in July at Vickers Park.

Movie Nights on the Waterfront

Movie Nights on the Waterfront is a series of free outdoor film screenings that take place on the last Friday and Saturday nights of August at Marina Park.

 

Annual winter events

SnowDay on the Waterfront

SnowDay features fantastic sculptures as the focal point of this one-day celebration of all things winter - at beautiful Marina Park.

Winter Fundays

Participate in Winter Fundays and enjoy the outdoors with a different free winter activity every Sunday at Prince Arthur's Landing - then warm up with a craft inside the Baggage Building Arts Centre.

Events Advisory Committee

The Events Advisory Committee provides advice, input and assistance to the Events Supervisor of Cultural Development & Events Department for the development of the City Events including Live on the Waterfront which runs from July to August, Canada Day on the Waterfront, Teddy Bears Picnic, Kite Festival, SnowDay and Movie Nights on the Waterfront.

The Events Advisory Committee meets as required.
