Canada Day on the Waterfront

Canada Day is Thunder Bay's biggest annual event - celebrate Canada's birthday at Marina Park!

Live on the Waterfront

Live on the Waterfront is Thunder Bay's premier free performing arts series! Wednesday evenings at Marina Park through the summer.

Teddy Bears Picnic

Children, parents and teddy bears are invited to the annual Teddy Bears Picnic to enjoy an afternoon of free crafts, activities and entertainment in July at Vickers Park.

Movie Nights on the Waterfront

Movie Nights on the Waterfront is a series of free outdoor film screenings that take place on Friday and Saturday nights at Marina Park.

Winter Fundays

Participate in Winter Fundays and enjoy the outdoors with a different free winter activity every Sunday - then warm up with a craft in the Baggage Building Arts Centre.


SnowDay features fantastic sculptures as the focal point of this one-day celebration of all things winter - at beautiful Marina Park.

Kite Festival

Kite Festival is an award-winning event that brings professional kite flyers, demonstrations and activities for all ages to Chippewa Park every June.

Events Advisory Committee

The Events Advisory Committee provides advice, input and assistance to the Events Supervisor of Cultural Development & Events Department for the development of the City Events including Live on the Waterfront which runs from July to August, Canada Day on the Waterfront, Teddy Bear's Picnic, Kite Festival, Exploring Our Routes, Food Frenzy, Snow Day and Movie Nights on the Waterfront.

The Events Advisory Committee meets as required.
