Kite Festival is back this year and taking place at Marina Park! This year will feature air shows from the Canadian Forces Snowbirds! 

This exciting two-day event will be held from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on June 3 and 4 with air shows scheduled for 12:00 pm. We can't wait for you to join us! 

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will be signing autographs on Saturday, June 3 at approximately 2:30 pm in the Market Parking Lot. They will also have a RCAF CF-18 cockpit on display all weekend! 

There will be professional kite flying demonstrations, community groups, food vendors, arts programming, outdoor games, bubble station, skateboarding lessons for youth, and more!

Some important details to keep in mind:

  • Ensuring a secure air space at the Marina is crucial during the event. Please note that if any kites, drones, or other objects are flying during the Snowbirds’ performance, their show will be immediately halted.
  • Parking is available at the Red River Road parkade and other city lots.
  • The Market Parking Lot adjacent to the splash pad and a section of the Boaters Parking Lot (Public Launch) will be closed.
  • Accessible parking for those with a valid Accessible Parking Permit will be available in the Camelot Parking Lot, but reservations are required. To reserve a spot, please call 807-684-3844.
  • A portion of Water Street will be closed on June 2 to 4, from approximately 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
