Bundle up for a winter wonderland at this years SnowDay on the Waterfront Extended! Join us at Marina Park on both Sunday, February 18 and Monday, February 19 for a variety of fun, FREE winter activities!

Sunday, February 18 & Monday, February 19 from 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm 

Exposure Public Art Exhibit

Join us at Marina Park for a SnowDay on the Waterfront first! The Exposure exhibit is a FREE interactive public art display that invites you to be a part of the art. This exhibit runs from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on both Sunday, February 18, and Monday, February 19.

Sunday, February 18 - 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Programming
  • Join the Fighting Walleye & Healthy Kids at the Prince Arthur's Landing skating rink from 5:00pm - 7:00pm (rink lights on until 10:00pm).
  • Explore the Baggage Building Arts Centre and take part in some fun with Lets Talk Science, as well as crafts & games. Cold Slate Creamery will also be onsite!
  • Taiji Park offers a candle lit snowshoe trail and outdoor games.
  • The Festival Area will be aglow with the EXPosure Exhibit, warming fires, crafts with CAHEP, CanWest Maple, TBay selfie sign, and a vibrant pixel wall. BeaverTails and Mini Donut Shoppe will be here too! (Food vendors, EXPosure Exhibit, and TBay Selfie Sign open until 10pm.)

Monday, February 19 - 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Programming
  • Come skating at Prince Arthur's Landing  (lights on until 10:00pm).
  • Head to the Baggage Building Arts Centre and visit the Thunder Bay Museum, take part in art activities with both CAHEP and Julia Tribe. Cold Slate Creamery will also be onsite!
  • Taiji Park offers a candle lit snowshoe trail and outdoor games.
  • The Festival Area shines with the EXPosure Exhibit, warming fires, crafts with CAHEP, activities with Science North, TBay selfie sign, a vibrant pixel wall, and horse-drawn wagon rides. BeaverTails and Mini Donut Shoppe will be here too! (Food vendors, EXPosure Exhibit, and TBay Selfie Sign open until 10pm.)
  • Special Pop-Up Performances by All the DAZE Productions with happen throughout the event area from 6pm-8pm

Parking for Event

Sunday, February 18: The Festival Loop (Bobby Curtola Drive & Saul Laskin Drive) will be closed starting in the morning. 

Free parking is available throughout the park. 

Monday, February 19: Marina Park will be closed from the Pearl Street round about to the Overpass Intersection starting at 8:00 am

Free parking is available in the overpass parking lot, the public boat launch parking lot, as well as any City of Thunder Bay surface parking lot in the area.

Accessible parking requests for Monday, February 19th may be made by calling 807-625-3836 from Wednesday, February 7 to Friday, February 16. Accessible parking requests will not be accepted after 4:00 pm on Friday, February 16.

Snow Sculpting Workshop

Interested in snow sculpting but don't know where to start? Register for our workshop where you will learn how to design and carve a snow sculpture while also making your own set of carving tools! Open to beginners, dabblers, hobbyists, and the simply curious! Ages 13+

This workshop is a collaboration between the City of Thunder Bay and Willow Springs Creative Centre.

  • Thunder Bay Museum - will be onsite in the Baggage Building Art Centre

  • DJ Skate Party - at the Prince Arthur's Landing skating rink
  • Food vendors - Mini Donuts, Cold Slate Creamery and Coffee on the Bay will be in attendance! Windy Shores Cafe and the Delta will also have SnowDay deals! 
  • Horse-drawn shuttle

  • Ice fishing with the MNFR and Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters
  • Science North - will be doing outdoor activities
