SnowDay on the Waterfront 2025 Programming

SnowDay on the Waterfront returns this Family Day with a variety of winter activities for all ages!

Programming includes:

  • Ice fishing
  • Snowshoeing 
  • Horse-drawn wagon rides
  • Art activities with both CAHEP
  • Special Pop-Up Performances by All the DAZE Productions
  • Outdoor games
  • Indoor warming station with crafts and games
  • Outdoor warming stations with fire pit
  • And more! 
 2024 SnowDay on the Waterfront

SnowDay 2024 included The Exposure exhibit, a FREE interactive public art display that invites you to be a part of the art!

  • Candle lit snowshoeing

  • Lets Talk Science and the Thunder Bay Museum was on-site in the Baggage Building Arts Centre
  • Art activities with both CAHEP and Julia Tribe
  • Special Pop-Up Performances by All the DAZE Productions
  • Outdoor games
  • Indoor warming station with crafts and games
  • Outdoor warming stations with fire pit
  • Food vendors - Cold Slate Creamery, BeaverTails and Mini Donut Shoppe

Snow Sculpting Workshop

Interested in snow sculpting but don't know where to start? Register for our workshop where you will learn how to design and carve a snow sculpture while also making your own set of carving tools! Open to beginners, dabblers, hobbyists, and the simply curious! Ages 13+

This workshop is a collaboration between the City of Thunder Bay and Willow Springs Creative Centre.

SnowDay on the Waterfront 2023 included:

  • Snow sculptures - check out our professional and community groups sculptures and vote for your favourites!
  • Thunder Bay Museum - will be onsite in the Baggage Building Art Centre
  • Boreal Museum - will be out in the green lawn area with outdoor programming
  • DJ Skate Party - at the Prince Arthur's Landing skating rink
  • Food vendors - Mini Donuts, Cold Slate Creamery and Coffee on the Bay will be in attendance! Windy Shores Cafe and the Delta will also have SnowDay deals! 
  • Horse-drawn shuttle
  • Winter petting zoo
  • Ice fishing with the MNFR and Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters
  • Science North - will be doing outdoor activities
  • CAHEP - will be doing an indoor and outdoor art project
