Lottery Positions
The Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay annually hires students during the summer months through a job lottery. Students hired under this program will primarily work in general labourer, clerical, tourism, animal services, golf course, storekeeper and historical researcher positions. The selection of students for these positions is based on a lottery system. Applications received for these positions will be entered into a database (pool of applicants) based on areas of interest specified by the applicant. When positions arise, applicants will be drawn by lottery from the database. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Returning Students (Rehires)
Returning summer students who are eligible for re-hire (who worked for the City of Thunder Bay the previous summer), will be sent a Rehire Application Form by mail. These students will be contacted by Human Resources when departments identify their staffing needs.
Please be advised that the City of Thunder Bay’s 2010 Summer Student Employment Program has closed. We thank all who have applied, however, only those under consideration will be notified.
