Notice to lift+ passengers

As of June 1, 2014 Lift+ will no longer be accepting HAGI Transit Services yellow or blue van tickets as fare payment on specialized or conventional transit buses.

Fare Conditions
Fare  Effective April 1, 2013 
Senior Annual Pass Those aged 60 and over are eligible for the pass. Visit the Transit Office at 570 Fort William Rd. on Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm to purchase. A photo will be taken and applied to the annual pass. Valid January 1 until December 31. Valid for unlimited travel during a calendar year.
Adult Monthly Pass The adult pass will now be used as a family day pass on Sundays or Stat Holidays under the same criteria as a family day pass.
Monthly Discount Pass May only be purchased and used by Persons with a valid Transit Accessibility ID Card.
Family/Day Pass May be used by 2 Adults/Seniors and 3 Children/Youth OR 1 Adult/Senior and 4 Children/Youth
Child Aged 0-5 ride free when accompanied by a fare paying adult
Youth Aged 6-18
Adult Aged 19-59
Senior Aged 60+

Transit Accessibility id card

To obtain an Accessibility ID card, proof of receipt of income support either from the Provincial or Federal government is required. A Transit Accessibility ID card must be presented upon request to a Transit Operator by any passenger using a monthly Discount Pass.

Pass, along with proof of age must be submitted for inspection upon request and may be confiscated for misuse.


Transit is not responsible for replacing lost or stolen passes.

Support Persons

No fare with proper approval of Thunder Bay Transit. (Without proper approval the fare is as indicated above.)

Federal Tax Credit for Transit

The Federal Government announced it would provide a non-refundable tax credit to those persons who purchase a Monthly pass (adult, discount or senior/youth) or Annual Senior pass. To claim the tax credit If you purchased a monthly pass, keep all of your expired monthly passes for the year. Write your name and address on the back of each pass. If the information on the front of the pass is worn, keep your receipt of purchase. For more information on how to claim and to determine your refund amount, visit:

fare fraud

Fare fraud is a serious criminal offence. Unlawful use of tickets, monthly passes or uPass may result in confiscation and/or the possibility of criminal charges. In the event of unlawful use or fare dispute, passengers will be asked to pay the cash fare. Passengers may contact Thunder Bay Transit for resolution in the event of a dispute.
