Golf Thunder Bay offers two courses comprising 36 holes for golfing enthusiasts to enjoy. Chapples Golf Course and Strathcona Golf Course are public municipal golf facilities structured to offer enjoyment for all levels of golfers. Both courses provide full Pro Shop services including club and cart rentals. Clubhouses are licensed and offer a light lunch and snack bar services. Golf Thunder Bay is also pleased to provide a full practice facility at Chapples golf course with access to book golf lessons with a professional.

Join Us for Strathcona’s 100th Anniversary Celebration

Join us in celebrating a century of golf and community at the 100th Anniversary of Strathcona Golf Course on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 11 am to 12 pm, at 500 Hodder Avenue. This special event will feature remarks from City officials and community members, the unveiling of a historical exhibit, and a ceremonial putt using a 100-year-old club and ball. Guests are invited to enjoy complimentary refreshments and a commemorative anniversary cake. All are welcome to attend and take part in this celebration of one of Thunder Bay’s most historic recreational landmarks.

Gift Cards are for golf services, food and beverage, or merchandise in our pro shops.

Shop online for all services at the online golf store. Click on this link 

Gift cards can be purchased through the online store and mailed to you for a small shipping fee.

Payroll Deduction

Full time City of Thunder Bay employee's can sign up for payroll deduction in 2025 for golf membership purchases.

Deductions can start anytime in 2025 and must be finished by October 3, 2025.
