SEPTEMBER 2021
WHEREAS, prostate cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men; and
WHEREAS, 1 in 9 Canadian men will be diagnosed with the disease; and
WHEREAS, an estimated average of 11 Canadian men die from prostate cancer every day; and
WHEREAS, the survival rate for prostate cancer is close to 100% when detected early, but 3 of 4 men will die when found late; and
WHEREAS, those with a family history of the disease are at a greater risk; and

Busy Road Work Season ContinuesThe City of Thunder Bay is investing $32 million in 2021 on road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sanitary and storm sewers, watermain repair/replacement, bridge and culvert work, and streetlight renewal.
Road work can result in road closures, detours and delays for drivers.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Lifts Fire BanThunder Bay Fire Rescue has lifted the City wide fire ban that was previously in place, consistent with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests lifting the Restricted Fire Zone declaration.
Fire Stations are open to the public in limited capacity due to Covid-19, so residents are still encouraged to renew and/or apply online.

Roundabout Education Event – Saturday, Aug. 21City Announces New Locations for Movie Nights in the ParksThe City of Thunder Bay is excited to announce the movie lineup and new locations for this year’s Movie Nights in the Parks, where movies will be shown in different neighbourhoods each week throughout the city.
This year’s three-part series will be held Thursday, August 19 at Kinsmen Youth Centre (Northwood), Thursday, August 26 at West Thunder and Thursday, September 2 at Balsam Park.
