April 30, 2026 - The candidate nomination period for the 2026 Municipal Election opens Friday, May 1.

Individuals interested in running for office as Mayor, City Councillor, or School Board Trustee must file nomination papers with the Office of the City Clerk, in person at City Hall, 500 Donald St.

April 29, 2026 - The City of Thunder Bay invites residents to provide feedback on the implementation of the current Apr 29, 2026

Crossing guards in Thunder Bay are drawing attention to an alarming number of safety incidents in school crossing zones, during a schoolyear in which two Ontario crossing guards have been fatally struck by vehicles.

The problem was highlighted this month with a police enforcement campaign, as well as incident reporting by crossing guards.
