Call for Talent for 2017 City of Thunder Bay Events
February 2, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay is inviting musicians, dance groups, children's entertainers and other stage performance acts to apply to perform at the City's annual summer events series.
Performance opportunities include over 14 event days, with two major single-day events and two event series.
City Employee Recognized for Sports Tourism ExcellenceFebruary 2, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay's Special Events Developer, Paul Burke, is a finalist in the Sport Tourism Champion category for the 2017 Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA) PRESTIGE Awards.
The award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an elected or paid official (federal, provincial, municipal) who greatly impacted sport tourism in their community in 2016.
City Supports Youth Through New Kinsmen Youth CentreFebruary 2, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay continues to support and develop youth programs and services throughout the City.
Today the City's Recreation and Culture Division hosted a Community Open House at the new Kinsmen Youth Site, 609 James St.
City and Fort William First Nation Collaborate on Economic DevelopmentFebruary 1, 2017 - Representatives from the City of Thunder Bay and Fort William First Nation participated in the Community Economic Development Initiative (CEDI) today, a national program delivered jointly by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers.
This is one of four partnerships in Canada to embark on a five-year First Nations-Municipal collaboration program.

Unattended Cooking Cause of Weekend FireJanuary 16, 2017 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a structural fire early Sunday morning on Empress Avenue. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and a female occupant was sent to hospital as a precaution.
