The 40-page booklet highlights the many projects funded by the City's Clean, Green & Beautiful Committee and those designed around the policy that focuses on building to a higher standard in Thunder Bay.

  • Animal Services' Chip-a-thon Strives to Keep Pets Safe

    April 27, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay Animal Services Centre in partnership with Friends of the Animals and local veterinarians will be hosting a Chip-a-thon on Saturday, May 9, at the Animal Services Centre, 882 Alloy Place, from 10 am to 3 pm. Appointments must be booked by Monday, May 4.

  • Building Owner Pleads Guilty For Failing to Comply with Inspection Order

    April 23, 2015 -The owner of a North Norah Street multi-unit residential building pled guilty in Provincial Court yesterday for failing to comply with an Inspection Order written by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue.  After pleading guilty the owner was issued a fine of $5,000 plus Court costs.

  • Storm Sewer Construction to Close Section of William Street

    April 21, 2015 - William Street between Edward Street and Barton Street will be closed to through traffic for approximately two weeks beginning Friday, April 24, due to storm sewer construction.

    Motorists are asked to use alternate routes when travelling through the area.

  • Community Leaders Connect to Mobilize Around Maternal Substance Use

    April 21, 2015 - The Thunder Bay Drug Strategy is calling attention to the unique needs of women who use substances and are pregnant or parenting. Leaders from various community agencies met today to learn about best practice models around this important issue; an event organized by the Maternal Substance Use & Child Issues Working Group which was formed in response to recommendations in the Drug Strategy around prevention and treatment.

    April 21, 2015 - The second installment of the 2015 tax bill is due on Wednesday, May 6. The interim tax billing is based on 50 per cent of your 2014 tax rate and 2014 assessment.

    April 16, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay's Anti-Racism Advisory Committee is hosting a community engagement session on April 21, at the Italian Cultural Centre.

    Residents are encouraged to attend "˜Shifting the Lens: Understanding Racism', a session aimed at helping participants understand issues surrounding racism and develop recommendations to move the community forward.

  • Carbon Monoxide Alarms Now Required

    April 15, 2015 - As of today it is the law to install carbon monoxide alarms in your home if you have a fuel-burning appliance, a fireplace or an attached garage.  The law will be enforced by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue.

  • Spring Curbside Battery Recycling Program Begins Tuesday

    April 10, 2015 - The City's spring curbside battery recycling program returns on April 14, giving residents an opportunity to conveniently and safely recycle spent household batteries.

    "This program has proven to be a very popular and successful one," said Jason Sherband, Coordinator - Solid Waste Diversion & Recycling.
