Delivery of Water Pitchers and Filters for Customers with Lead Service PipesAs the City of Thunder Bay makes changes to the drinking water, lead levels at the tap for customers with lead service pipes are expected to rise. Customers with lead service pipes will be provided a free water pitcher with filters that are certified to remove lead.
Mayor Invites the Community to Safety and Well-Being PlanningA Public Forum for Community Safety and Well-Being was held this evening to launch the planning process in Thunder Bay.
Effective January 1, 2019, new legislation mandates all Ontario municipalities to prepare and adopt a community safety and well-being (CSWB) plan that proactively addresses locally identified priority risks to community safety and well-being.
City Administration Recommends Selling Hardisty Street BuildingFollowing a report from City Administration that was presented in closed session lastnight, City Council has, subject to ratification, approved the sale of a Hardisty Street property to a private business.
The property, located at 201 Hardisty Street, was advertised for sale in October 2019 and an offer was conditionally agreed upon in early December.
Eating Disorders Awareness WeekThe fountain at City Hall will be lit up purple, from February 1st to February 7th, to raise awareness to eating disorders and body image concerns.

The pH of the drinking water of the City of Thunder Bay is changing as the City will phase out the addition of sodium hydroxide.
