Curbside Leaf & Yard Waste Collection Begins Next Week
May 17, 2018 - Curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste will take place May 22 - June 1, on regular recycling days. Leaf and yard waste collection dates were pushed forward due to the slow start to spring.

The City of Thunder Bay's annual celebration of flight is back at Chippewa Park on Sunday, June 3 from 12 pm to 4 pm.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Issues Fire BanMay 15, 2018 - Effective at noon today, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue has issued a fire ban on all outdoor burning within the City of Thunder Bay. The ban on outdoor burning is consistent with the recent Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests Restricted Fire Zone declaration.
Temporary Closure of Boulevard Dam Pedestrian WalkwayMay 14, 2018 - The pedestrian walkway, across the top of the Boulevard Lake Dam will be closed on Wednesday, May 16, from 8 am - 6 pm, or until work is complete.
The purpose of the closure is to do repairs to the deck top of the walkway.
Free Compost Available to Residents Starting TodayMay 14, 2018 - Compost is available to all residents at no charge at the Solid Waste and Recycling Facility while quantities last, weather permitting.
Access to the compost pick-up area is located east of the old landfill entrance on John Street Road.
Section of High St. and Cornwall Ave. to Close Week of May 21May 10, 2018 - The road closure on High Street South between John Street and Bay Street, and Cornwall Avenue above High Street South, originally scheduled to close on May 14, has been postponed a week and will now close starting the week of May 21.
The purpose of the closure is to finish the work on the High Street Retaining Wall.

Section of William Street to Close for Road Resurfacing WorkMay 9, 2018 - A section of William Street, from Golf Links Road to Barton Street, will be closed to all through traffic starting on Thursday, May 10 to allow for asphalt resurfacing work.
The closure is expected to last up to two weeks.
Section of High Street and Cornwall Avenue to CloseMay 7, 2018 - High Street South between John Street and Bay Street, and Cornwall Avenue above High Street South will close starting on Monday, May 14 to finish work on the High Street Retaining Wall. The work is expected to take up to six weeks.
