Waterfront Splash Pad and Amenities Open for Season
June 15, 2017 - The Splash Pad and Water Garden Pavilion at Prince Arthur's Landing are now open for the season. Weather permitting the facilities will remain open until mid-September.
City's CN Application Dismissed by CourtJune 14, 2017 - The Superior Court of Ontario has dismissed the City of Thunder Bay's application for an order requiring CN to maintain the James Street Bridge.
"We are disappointed with the decision, and are considering our options going forward," said Norm Gale, City Manager.

Live on the Waterfront Selected for ONtour ConcertJune 12, 2017 - Thunder Bay's Live on the Waterfront has been selected as a stop in the free ONtour concert series, part of a year-long line-up of events marking Ontario's 150th anniversary and celebrating the province.
The ONtour concert will be presented in Thunder Bay at Live on the Waterfront on August 9.
Check Smoke/CO Alarms and Practice Home Fire Escape PlansJune 8, 2017 - After nine fire related fatalities in Southwestern Ontario in recent months, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue wants to remind the public to make sure they have working smoke alarms on every level of their home and outside all sleeping areas. Thunder Bay Fire Rescue also reminds residents to develop and practice a home fire escape plan with everyone in their home.
Section of James Street to Close Due to Storm Sewer WorkJune 7, 2017 - Storm sewer reconstruction on James Street between Victoria Avenue and Churchill Drive in the vicinity of the Neebing River will begin on Monday, June 12, and is expected to take approximately 16 weeks to complete.
As construction proceeds, the road will be closed to through traffic, local traffic will be permitted.
Treasure Exchange Days Return this Weekend (1)June 7, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay's popular Treasure Exchange Days return on June 10 and 11, giving residents a chance to discover one-of-a-kind treasures while reducing waste.
Anyone with gently-used items that they wish to give away can leave them out on the curb any time after 5 pm, on Friday, June 9.
Paving to Reduce Dawson Road to One Lane in Each DirectionJune 7, 2017 - A section of Dawson Road between Skyline Avenue and Hilldale Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction, due to pavement rehabilitation starting on Monday, June 12.
The pavement rehabilitation will involve removal of the existing asphalt surface, new curb and gutter replacement, and resurfacing of the street with two lifts of asphalt pavement.
Annual Report responding to Seven Youth Inquest set for June 12June 7, 2017 - A report outlining the City's response to the recommendations directed to the City in the Seven Youth Inquest will be presented to City Council at Committee of the Whole on June 12.
The Inquest into the deaths of seven First Nations youth began on October 5, 2015 and concluded on June 28, 2016 when the Jury rendered its verdict.
