Child Care Survey to Capture Community's Child Care Needs
June 12, 2015 - Local families with children up to 12-years-old who are not currently attending a City of Thunder Bay Child Care Centre are invited to give input into a review of the City's child care operations through a Child Care Survey.
Earlier this year, City Council formed a Task Force on City-operated Child Care to review the City's current child care operations in its four City-operated Child Care Centres (Grace Remus, Algoma, Ogden and Woodcrest) and licensed Private Home Child Care.
Treasure Exchange Days Return this Weekend (4)June 10, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay's popular Treasure Exchange Days return on June 13 and 14, giving residents a chance to discover one-of-a-kind treasures while reducing waste.
Anyone with gently-used items they wish to give away can leave them out on the curb any time after 5 pm, on Friday, June 12.
Centennial Park Access Limited Due to Water Main WorkJune 9, 2015 - Access to Centennial Park will be limited for the next week due to water main work.
The access road will be closed at Arundel Street to allow crews to dig a trench to replace a water main in the parking lot.
Seven New Firefighters Earn Badges with Thunder Bay Fire RescueJune 6, 2015 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue (TBFR) welcomed seven new firefighters today at a New Recruit Graduation Ceremony at the Thunder Bay Fire & Emergency Services Regional Training Complex.

Mayor Hobbs made the declaration at a ceremony today at Mariner’s Hall at Prince Arthur’s Landing.
Boulevard Lake to Remain Open for Recreational UseJune 3, 2015 - Work scheduled for the Boulevard Lake Dam Rehabilitation project has been delayed, and the lake will not be drained this summer. The dam walkway will also remain open to the public, and the lake will be available for recreational use
The project is subject to the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change's Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process, which allows stakeholders to voice concerns with the project.
Crossing Guard Appreciation Day Celebrated This WeekJune 2, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay is once again celebrating the individuals that continue to make its crossing guard program a success with the 10th annual Crossing Guard Appreciation Day on Friday, June 5.
The crossing guard program has been in place since 1947; currently, 64 crossing guards are employed by the City of Thunder Bay.
