2015 Road Work Season BeginsMay 14, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay is investing $40 million in 2015 on road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sewer and watermain repair/replacement, bridge work and streetlight renewal. This also includes $380,000 in the Enhanced Infrastructure Renewal Program Capital Budget in 2015.
Storm Sewer Construction to Close Intersection WednesdayMay 12, 2015 - The intersection of William Street/James Street and Golf Links Road/Edward Street North will be closed to north-south through traffic on Wednesday, May 13, due to ongoing storm sewer work.
Southbound traffic will be able to turn right onto James Street North, while northbound traffic will have access to William Street - the closure only affects through traffic.
Residents Continue to Rate Quality of life in Thunder Bay HighlyMay 11, 2015 - The 2015 City of Thunder Bay Citizen Satisfaction Survey shows that when it comes to satisfaction with city services, 87 per cent are satisfied, which has remained relatively unchanged over the past several years. The city has now conducted a similar statistically valid survey every two years since 2005.

Spring Curbside Leaf & Yard Waste Collection Begins May 5May 1, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay's spring curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste will take place between May 5 and 15, 2015, on your regular recycling day.
Homeowners are encouraged to use Kraft (paper bags) for garden waste because these bags decompose naturally.
City Celebrates Youth Week and Youth Arts WeekMay 1, 2015 - This week is all about youth in Thunder Bay according to Acting Mayor Rebecca Johnson, who officially proclaimed May 1-7 as "Youth Week" today at City Hall. National Youth Week celebrates the positive contributions that youth make to their communities, their achievements, and their volunteerism.
Free Week at Solid Waste & Recycling Facility runs May 3 to 10May 1, 2015 - Tipping fees for residents driving cars and non-commercial light trucks will once again be waived this year as part of "˜Free Week' at the Solid Waste & Recycling Facility, which runs from May 3 to 10.
Regular tipping fees will apply to all loads brought onto the site in commercial vehicles.
Habitat for Humanity Reuse Days during Landfill Free WeekMay 1, 2015 - Representatives from the Thunder Bay branch of Habitat for Humanity will once again be participating in Free Week, running May 3 to 10, at the City's Solid Waste and Recycling Facility.
Habitat will be on-site from May 4 to 9 to collect gently-used items such as windows, doors, building supplies, working appliances, and furnishings from Thunder Bay residents during Free Week at the landfill site.
