Accessibility Advisory Committee Recognizes Transit Driver Appreciation DayThe City of Thunder Bay’s Accessibility Advisory Committee is pleased to recognize Transit Driver Appreciation Day on March 18, 2022. The day highlights the roles Transit and Lift+ drivers provide for the City of Thunder Bay, transit customers, and the community as a whole.
Mask mandates to be lifted, more service counters openStarting March 21, the Government of Ontario will drop the mandatory mask mandate in the majority of public settings, including city facilities. Mandates will still remain in place for a period of time for public transit, long-term care and health care settings.

City’s Outdoor Skating Rinks Have Closed for the SeasonDue to warmer weather conditions the City’s outdoor skating rinks have now closed, with the exception of the outdoor rink at Prince Arthur’s Landing.
Thunder Bay’s outdoor rinks typically close in early to mid-March.

City Hall and Council Chambers Reopening to the PublicThunder Bay City Hall will re-open to the public on Monday, March 21, 2022 after exclusively offering limited, in-person service since the start of 2022 due to the Omicron surge.
Public service counters will now be open during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30 pm.
Section of Rosslyn Road to Close Tomorrow to Through TrafficRosslyn Road, between 20th Side Road and Pomona Drive, will be closed to through traffic on Wednesday, March 9, for underground infrastructure installation.
Crews expect to be completed by the end of the day Wednesday, but weather conditions and other factors may impact project timelines.
