City Archives Unveils Inductees into Women’s History Month 2026 Exhibit
Each year in October, to coincide with Women’s History Month, new inductees are added to the City of Thunder Bay Women’s History Month online exhibit. The exhibit recognizes and celebrates women of all ages who played important roles in the history and development of our city.
Three new inductees have been added to the online exhibit this year:
- Alice Bellavance, CEO of Brain Injury Services of Northern Ontario (BISNO)
- Sanna Kannasto, Activist for women’s rights and working people’s rights
- Nancy Perozzo, Founder of Friends of Grain Elevators (FOGE)
“The Women’s History Month exhibit is a fantastic opportunity to recognize the contributions of women whose dedication, leadership, and advocacy have helped shape our city,” says Christina Wakefield, City Archivist for the City of Thunder Bay. “By sharing their stories, we help preserve and celebrate the important role women have played, and continue to play, in our city’s history.”
