City Expands Build Thunder Bay Services to Include Sign Permits

The City of Thunder Bay is expanding services offered through the Build Thunder Bay: One-Stop Development Shop with the addition of sign permit applications. 

This expansion supports the City’s ongoing efforts to improve customer service by bringing development-related services together in one convenient location. Signage permits were previously managed through Municipal Enforcement Services.

Customers can now access sign permit applications and information at buildthunderbay.ca. Support is available by calling 807-62-BUILD (807-622-8453).

Please note that matters relating to election signs for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election will continue to be managed through Municipal Enforcement Services.

This service consolidation is part of the ongoing implementation of Action R27 - One-Stop Development Shop in Thunder Bay’s Smart Growth Action Plan. This action supports growth by streamlining development processes for local businesses.
