City of Thunder Bay introduces eBilling for property tax bills
Residents will soon have a new, more convenient way to receive their property tax bills.
The City of Thunder Bay is launching eBilling for property tax accounts, allowing customers to receive their interim and final tax bills by email instead of through the mail. Customers who sign up will begin receiving their tax bills electronically starting with the 2026 Final Tax Bill.
eBilling helps ensure timely and uninterrupted delivery, reduces paper use, and allows residents to access their bills from anywhere. To complete the sign-up, customers will need:
- Their 17-digit property roll number, and
- The 7-digit access code found on their 2026 Interim Tax Bill. Keep this code as it will be needed to open your emailed tax bill.
Important information
- Only interim and final tax bills are sent by eBilling
- Other notices, such as arrears or adjustment letters, will continue to be mailed
- If an emailed bill is undeliverable, eBilling will be cancelled and paper billing will resume
- eBilling does not transfer when a property is sold
- It is the account holder’s responsibility to keep mailing and email addresses up to date
The City already offers eBilling for water bills, as well as billing reminders by phone, text, or email. Residents who prefer paperless billing are encouraged to sign up for both tax and water eBilling services online by visiting www.thunderbay.ca/revenue.
