Nomination period for 2026 Municipal Election closes today

The nomination period for the 2026 Thunder Bay Municipal and School Board Election closes today and all prospective candidates must have filed their nomination papers with the Clerk’s Office by this afternoon.

The final deadline for submissions is 2 p.m. today.

The complete list of individuals who have filed nomination papers will be posted on the City’s website by 2:45 p.m. These individuals are not official candidates until the City Clerk has certified their nomination; the list of certified candidates will be posted on August 24.
