"Paint the City of Thunder Bay Pink Week" for Breast Cancer- 2026

WHEREAS breast cancer the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women in Canada, a disease that also effects men; and

WHEREAS more than 32,400 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer the year of 2026 in Canada; and

WHEREAS the Canadian Cancer Society is the largest national charitable organization in Canada, dedicated to creating a future without breast cancer; and

WHEREAS the Canadian Cancer Society is the largest funder in breast cancer research in Canada; and

WHEREAS, Canadian Cancer Society, CIBC Run for the Cure Thunder Bay is declaring September 27th to October 4th, 2026, as PAINT the City of Thunder Bay Pink Week to promote public awareness of breast cancer

THEREFORE, I, Ken Boshcoff, Mayor of the City of Thunder Bay, do hereby proclaim September 27th to October 4th, 2026 as Paint the City of Thunder Bay Pink Week in the City of Thunder Bay, and urge all citizen to learn more about breast cancer and support those whose lives have been affected by the disease.
