WHEREAS, since 1947 when Adult Crossing Guards were instituted in Port Arthur, Crossing Guards have provided safe crossing for school children walking to and from school; and

WHEREAS, due to dedication and a conscientious attitude to their work, they have maintained an outstanding safety record; and
