Thunder Bay's First Protected Bike Lane and Multi-Use Trail Opens
July 31, 2015 - Cyclists and pedestrians using the Arundel Street Active Living Corridor will now have more separation from car and truck traffic thanks to an improved lane configuration.
In May, City Council approved implementing Thunder Bay's first buffered bike lane and protected two-way multi-use trail on Arundel Street.
Section of Victoria Avenue to Close for Rail Crossing RehabilitationJuly 30, 2015 - Victoria Avenue between Selkirk and Waterloo streets will close to all through traffic on Tuesday, August 4 for one week.
The closure is necessary as the CN rail crossing on Victoria Avenue is scheduled for rehabilitation.
City Hall Sounds to Return to McGillivray Square for Third SeasonJuly 30, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay's Crime Prevention Council today announced the third annual edition of City Hall Sounds, which brings live entertainment, great local food, and other activities to McGillivray Square - the public space in front of City Hall.

Aboriginal Youth Trip to China Being PostponedJuly 27, 2015 - Plans to send a contingent of Aboriginal youth to Jiaozou, China is being postponed until sufficient funds to sponsor the youth can be raised.
"Unfortunately, the time frame we had to fundraise to cover the total cost of this trip was not long enough and we have not had the sponsorship support we had hoped for, so we have determined that it is in the City's best interest to postpone the trip at this time," said Ann Magiskan, Aboriginal Liaison.

Section of Arthur Street to Close for Rail Crossing RehabilitationJuly 24, 2015 - Arthur Street from Waterloo Street to Kingsway will close to all through traffic on Monday, July 27 to allow for rehabilitation of the rail crossing and approaches.
The closure is expected to last one week.
