PRO Kids Hosts 25th Anniversary Partner Recognition BrunchA Partner Recognition Brunch was hosted by PRO Kids on Sunday, April 23, to recognize and honour the recreational activity partners who have helped make a difference in the lives of local children and youth.
The event, which took place at the Best Western Plus Nor’Wester Hotel and Conference Centre, marked a major milestone for PRO Kids as the organization celebrates 25 years of providing Positive Recreation Opportunities for kids in need.
City Call for Talent, Vendors, Artists/Artisans and Community GroupsThe City of Thunder Bay is inviting talent, food vendors, event vendors, artists/ artisans and community groups to apply to participate in the City’s annual community events season.
The 2023 events season includes 19 event days, including two event series: Live on the Waterfront and Movie Nights in the Parks.
Complex to close temporarily in June for maintenanceA report from Administration will be presented to City Council on March 6 recommending that a contract be awarded for significant maintenance and construction work at the Canada Games Complex.
Subject to Council’s approval, the facility will close for approximately four months, beginning on June 4.

PRO Kids Celebrates 25 Years of Helping Children and YouthPRO Kids is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2023. In its 25 years, the registered charity has helped 27,481 children and youth access recreational programs when their families could not afford the fees.
Prince Arthur’s Landing Ice Rink Opens Dec. 2The ice rink at Prince Arthur's Landing will officially open on Friday, Dec. 2, operating Monday through Wednesday from 12 pm to 8 pm and Thursday to Sunday from 12 pm to 9 pm.
City Announces 2023 Snow Sculpture CompetitionThe City of Thunder Bay is pleased to announce the 2023 Call to Artists for Snow Sculpture submissions. The Recreation & Culture Division will host its annual Snow Sculpture Competition as part of SnowDay on the Waterfront, which takes place on Family Day in February.
Online Survey Opens on City’s Summer Event SeriesThunder Bay’s Cultural Developments & Events Division is seeking input on their 2022 Summer Events Series.
These events included the Maamawe Festival, Canada Day on the Waterfront, and the Live on the Waterfront evening concert series.
