Delaney Arena to operate with modifications this seasonThe City of Thunder Bay will be operating Delaney Arena in a modified capacity for the upcoming 2024/25 ice season due to ice refrigeration system failures and problems with the arena floor.
“Several temporary fixes to the existing ice system infrastructure have been completed, including repairs to piping and the arena floor,” said Paul Burke, Sport & Community Development Supervisor.
Grand opening will celebrate launch of inclusive playground at Vickers ParkThe City of Thunder Bay is extending an invitation to the public to attend a grand opening event celebrating the official launch of the new inclusive playground at Vickers Park.
Vickers Park now serves as the City’s second inclusive play hub, building on the success of the playground built at Boulevard Lake in 2022.

City Launches 2SLGBTQIA+ Welcome Sticker InitiativeThe City of Thunder Bay and partners are proud to launch the 2SLGBTQIA+ Welcome Sticker Initiative that will see decals featuring the colours and symbols of the Progress Pride flag displayed across all City facilities indicating that Thunder Bay is a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.
Mayor Ken Boshcoff expressed strong support for the initiative, stating, "Thunder Bay is a community that values diversity.

Prince Arthur’s Landing Splash Pad temporarily closedEarly this morning, City crews were required to make emergency repairs to the water filter system at the splash pad at Prince Arthur’s Landing. The work has been completed, but the splash pad will remain closed until it is able to be fully refilled.
