Voter Information Letter

The Voters List is the register of electors used to provide important information about the election to eligible

voters and to ensure only eligible voters are able to cast their ballot. Elections Ontario manages a single register of electors for both provincial and municipal elections in Ontario. This is the information used to produce the Voter Information Letter.

You can check to see if your information needs to be updated by:

Contacting the Voter Help Line: 807-622-VOTE (8683) or ThunderBayVotes@thunderbay.ca
Visiting City Hall at 500 Donald Street East during business hours with identification; or
Reviewing your Voter Information Letter delivered the week of September 28.

If your information on the Voter Information Letter is incorrect, you must correct this in person by:

Visiting one of the Revision locations listed below with identification:
o Saturday, October 3 – 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Thunder Bay Country Market
o Sunday, October 4 – 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Intercity Mall (near the Food Court)
o Sunday, October 4 – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Goods & Co. Market
o Monday, October 5 – 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Intercity Mall (near the Food Court)
o Tuesday, October 6 – 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Intercity Mall (near the Food Court)

Register of Future Voters

Are you 16 or 17 years old and interested in voting? If you are 16 or 17 years old, a Canadian citizen, and a resident of Ontario, you can add your name to the Register of Future Voters and be ready for the Municipal Election in 2030!

Ensure your School Support Designation is up-to-date before the next election

While Elections Ontario maintains the Permanent Register of Electors in Ontario for provincial, municipal, and school board elections, MPAC (Municipal Property Assessment Corporation) is legislatively responsible for collecting school support designation information.

What is school support?

Whether you own or rent your home, your property is linked to a school board – even if you don’t have children or your children aren’t currently attending school. While you’re not required to make a designation, you do have the option to choose which school board you support. If you don’t make a choice, your support will default to the English-Public school board.

How to update school support designations

You can still update your designation after June 1 using MPAC AboutMyProperty™ or MPAC’s online portal for tenants. Your change will be recorded by MPAC, but it will need to be updated with the municipality separately.
